European Conference 2024

The SBCA 2024 European Conference took place in Warsaw, Poland, on September 19-20, 2024, hosted by the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Economic Sciences.

The conference aimed to advance the theory and application of benefit-cost analysis (BCA) tools with a focus on both research and policy. It provided a platform for scientific exchange, welcoming theoretical and empirical contributions across various methods used in public sector decision-making, including BCA, cost analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, risk-benefit analysis, and damage assessment. Topics covered included non-market valuation, discounting, equity, social policy, regulation, and applications in areas such as environment, transport, energy, aging, and healthcare.

SBCA awarded five student scholarships, each including a complimentary SBCA membership and conference registration. Recipients were randomly selected from full-time students presenting and registered by July 7, 2024, providing a valuable opportunity to engage with experts in benefit-cost analysis.
